St Joseph's Waihi PTFA
Parent, Teachers and Friends Association
St Joseph's PTFA is open to all parents and whanau involved in our school.
As a group we aim to build strong relationships among parents, teachers and community in the support of our students.
We meet on a monthly basis where we discuss and plan fundraising activities and up and coming school events.
Fundraising
Fundraising is a major part of the PTFA's role. Our major fundraising ventures include profit from a Community Op Shop where we have a group who work on a roster with other community groups, an Annual Mine Pit Rim Fun Run which utilises and promotes our local environment, catering within our community, Garage Sales and various other fundraising activities throughout the year.
School Lunches
We provide the option of bought lunches on a Monday which we source through Future Foods Ltd in Tauranga. Future Foods have introduced products which are lower in fat and sodium and which carry the heart tick so that we can offer healthier options for our children.
School Uniforms
The PTFA stock several items of our school uniform which can be bought from the school office. These include
PE Shorts
PE Polo Shirts
Sunhats
Sweatshirts
Girls Tunics
The additional items of uniform can be bought from Postie Plus Stores.
If you are unable to participate as a member of the PTFA there are still many ways that you can make an important contribution to our school. Throughout the year there are many social events and special occasions to come along to. You can help by coming to working bees, joining the roster for baking for school lunches and catering, helping with school lunches or coming along to school events to support your children.
Whether you can attend every meeting or come occasionally your contribution is welcome and much appreciated.
