We are proud to be a small but very well resourced, Catholic school in Waihi. We cater for boys and girls from Year 0 - 8 and offer quality education, both academically and spiritually, as well as providing emotional, social, physical and cultural learning opportunities for all our students, based on the New Zealand curriculum documents.
Our community comprises of our school families and staff, our parish priest, Monsignor Frank Eggleton, and the parishionersof the combined parishes of St. Joseph's Waihi, Stella Maris Waihi Beach and St. Patrick's Whangamata. Our school and extended parish are in partnership and work together offering both pastoral care and support to all those in our school community.
We welcome and value parent input, through assistance with class programmes, sports teams, and Education Outside the Classroom activities.
The school comprises of three classrooms, resource area and toilets. We are particularly proud of our renovated classrooms, library and administration area. Our grounds contain an adventure playground, large grassed area, fitness trail and netball and basketball courts.

We pride ourselves on providing quality learning programmes for our children in a safe, secure and language enriched environment.
As well as exciting classroom programmes many children also have access to:
- Reading Recovery (a nationally provided individual programme for six-year-old children with identified needs in reading).
- Teacher Aide support for identified students with particular learning needs including ESL students.
- E-learning facilities and opportunites in each classroom.
Our more able students participate in the Australasian Mathematics Competition.
As always we always look to enhance our classroom programmes to meet the needs of our learners whilst maintaining high quality curriculum delivery.
